Two things:

1) You guys should totally go weekly. :) I know it's difficult and time consuming, though.

2) IGN and Game Informer are the most disgusting gaming publications around today. I know some good people work for those companies, but that doesn't change the fact they're both unethical.

I just wanted to respond to N'Gai's comment regarding the discussion of District 9. As a disclaimer, I haven't seen the movie yet. That being said, I understand where you're coming from with respect to it being more difficult to use the aliens as the sole protagonists. I think the difficulty, though, lies with audiences' acceptance of that, and in movies like Cry Freedom, I think perhaps Kline's character -- who, of course, was integral to the real-life story -- is used as a means of conveying the message in a way that predominantly white audiences are willing to accept. Just a theory, though...

I thought District 9 came far closer to being a Half-Life film than a Halo one in tone. I recall one shot that looked almost precisely like the picture linked below but with a mutated arm, not a crowbar.

I too wanted to contribute the the District 9 discussion. I was at the New Zealand premier in Wellington where Peter Jackson came and spoke about the production of D9. Basically after the Halo movie was cancelled he felt bad for Neil Blomkamp and went to him and said do whatever. They worked on the short Alive and Joburg and started developing it into a feature length movie. Initially it was going to be just documentary style, which is why it has the mix of that style and normal (which I really liked, it was just so refreshing for an action movie). In the end they decided that they couldn't tell the complete story with just that style so brought in more of the third person traditional camera style. Oh and totally disagree about it being a trilogy. I feel this was Neils test run and now he's proved himself he has more opportunities, hopefully with a restrained budget like N'Gai was talking about.

Love the show, perfect mix of Games, movies, music, psychology (can you reccommend more books Shawn?, How We Decide was great!) and of course humour.

Loved the show guys. Missed Jeff this week, he's a riot. Good job keeping it tight lately N'gai.

District 9 is just a little bit overrated in my book. I suppose it can't help looking like a gem next to the mostly miserable dreck that has come out of Hollywood this year.

By all means put some ads in if it will help bring about a weekly Out of the Game. Your dedicated audience is surely composed of intelligent, avid media consumers with disposable income.. should be irresistible to the right advertisers.

Interesting stuff about DJ Hero. I'm curious about how Scratch: The Ultimate DJ compares to it. Scratch seems aimed more at what Shawn thought Hero was, while Hero is more club DJ focused. Pedigree and advertising budget will surely be enough for Hero to come out on top, but will it be the better product?
Also, as Robert hinted at, how close do these games have to get before it's just a flimsy, feature-stripped version of the real hardware?
I'd love to hear any peroration, N'Gai's familiarity with DJing is a welcome contrast to most press write-ups I've seen that are clumsily nescient.
