    Good show guys. I love Shawn's new character, the nerd who is excrutiating to listen to while making surprisingly insightful comments. Really enjoyed the free-flowing Batman discussion.

    A couple things. Please add the artwork to the file before you upload to iTunes. The website link in iTunes directs you to "http://outofthegame/", you might want to fix that.

    Just a comment about the last podcast. That was simply the best discussion of Beatles Rockband I had read or heard ANYWHERE. Thanks for that, guys. I really appreciate you guys donating your time to do this. This is one of the best, most insightful "shows" on the internet, about gaming or anything else.

    sdf, jccalhoun: Jeff's game is called MySims Agents not The Sims 3. It is out and it got reviewed, hence the discussion in the show.

    Regarding the notion of wearing Star Trek outfits to a Renaissance Fair, that actually happens. I remember seeing a segment about it on The Daily Show years ago.

    Following on from the discussion in the podcast about people getting angry about platform-exclusive games not getting higher scores, and about the console fanboyism in general, I think the reason you tend to see this more in the videogame world than anywhere else is that like it or not, the people who 1) play videogames and 2) are so enthusiastic about them that they go online to talk about them are mostly men, and mostly young, and I think in general young men are more likely to be a bit immature and a bit over-aggressive than the population as a whole. Also I think that a lot of young kids can't afford to buy both consoles, so once they have chosen one (particularly if it is the more expensive one) the cognitive bias which makes you want to see your own choices as beneficial adds to the phenomena. (You wouldn't really get the same thing for films and music as the idea of a movie or album that would only play on hardware sold by a particular corporation would be pretty weird).

    Hey guys, I always listen to your show and think it can be great, but I really didn't enjoy the first 1/3 or so of this recent show... all it was was bitching about people who don't deserve to be talked about in the first place..

    case in point: an untalented games journalist online... you guys tear into some poor shmuck for 20 minutes and what have you done? To my ears, nothing. There will always be someone out there doing terrible crap, why dwell on it...

    I've always enjoyed your material in the tradition of "heroes of the web", but my advice is

    1) don't open your show with a bunch of hating
    2) don't hate for a half hour at a time...

    who wants to listen to that much negativity? It's like your show is a tasty sandwich, but I'm forced to eat far too many gross hot peppers before I can get to the meal...


    maybe it's just me, but I felt sick while listening to you guys for the first half of your show, the good stuff towards the end was good, but my appetite had already been spoiled...

    just my 2 cents!
